Course Description

This engaging and interactive 3-day course is approved by the Ministry of Labour and applies to all workplaces that require certified members. Provincial legislation mandates that all workplaces that regularly employ 20 or more workers must have a joint health and safety committee. There must be at least one certified worker member and one certified management member on the committee.

The purpose of the course is to provide individuals with the knowledge and resources to effectively fulfill their role as certified members. Successful participants will receive certification from the Ministry of Labour.

Certification training is provided in partnership with Complete Safety Resources Inc., an approved Certification Training Provider by the Chief Prevention Officer, Ministry of Labour.

JHSC Part 1 Certification

Course Content

Duration

This course will run 3 days and all participants who successfully complete the course will receive accreditation from the Ministry of Labour.

Note: Part 2 Certification must be completed within 6 months of Part 1 in order to maintain Certified status.

JHSC Part 2 Certification: Office Environments

This course is primarily designed for workplaces that provide general management administrative support services. Part 2 training, also known as workplace-specific hazard training, builds on concepts gained in Part 1 and focuses on hazards present in the workplace that would be most likely to cause injury or illness.

Course runs 2 days and successful participants will receive record of completion and accreditation from the Ministry of Labour.

JHSC Part 2 Certification: Industrial Environments

This course is primarily designed for industrial type workplaces that produce a service or product in support of industry. Part 2 training, also known as workplace-specific hazard training, builds on concepts gained in Part 1 and focuses on hazards present in the workplace that would be most likely to cause injury or illness.
