Chainsaw Safety Awareness

Course Description:

This course is designed as an awareness course that informs workers regarding the safe operation of chainsaws while felling limbing, and processing small trees, plus clearing brush.

It covers the Personal Protective Equipment needed to safely use a chainsaw, and the various procedures involved in preparing the workspace.

Course Content:

• Chainsaw anatomy
• Hazards and risks of operating a chainsaw
• Basic safety procedures
• Chainsaw operation
• Maintenance and Inspection
• Small Tree felling and processing
• Course Review/test

A test will be given at the end of the course and all who successfully pass will be issued a certificate of completion.

NOTE: The practical element of this course consists of demonstrating pre-operational checks, maintenance requirements, and chainsaw starting, running, and shutdown procedures, included in the 3.5 hours.
